My Eight Weeks: The Final Stand

Last weeks goals:
1. Wake up by 12 pm every day.
2. Put $70 on credit card at the end of the week
3. Spend 20 minutes each day on a project of your choice (ie rainbow blanket, camera refurb, blog, pictures scanned and edited, etc.
4. Write down one positive, beautiful, wonderful thing every day.
5. Go on 2, 20 minute walks.
6. Bake vegan pumpkin muffins.
7. Put up 3 posters/pieces on wall.

I'm going to be real honest, I did very little of what I planned to do...
I only did number 3 I think, even if that.
I have been starting to study for the GRE which is exciting (for me). I've been out of the school scene for a while and I'm excited to start studying again.

I've thought, for an hour or so now, of what this week's goals could be. I'm not sure I mind that I didn't get everything (or much of anything) done last week. I think I was a little too ambitious and repeated things that obviously weren't enough of an interest. So this week's goals, on my final week, are all about keeping up with things I am already doing.

1. Morning pages every day, but this time on tumblr with a picture accompanying it. (After the week is over and I see what I write I might share the link, I haven't decided just yet.)
2. Read one book.
3. Study at least 50 vocab words for GRE.
4. Mail blanket out to Shay.
5. Crochet 4 squares for Unicorn Sparklebottom's blanket.

I wish I could say this week's goals were cumulative or climactic of this project but they are not. I started it with little organization and by gosh that's how I'm going to end it. I think I'm going to keep with keeping weekly goals and writing them down. I might even make it easier on myself and get a whiteboard to write them on and stick above my desk. Then I'll remember.

What are you doing this week?

My Eight Weeks: Week 7

Last week's goals:
1. Finish attaching cloth to bulletin board and hang it. I did, but it didn't work the way I wanted. Must buy stapler to finish this.
2. rearrange living room: Yes! Did this! Things are still a mess but it's getting closer to the way I want it.
3. put up 3 posters: Did not do this at all. I really want everything framed so I am going to have to get the measurements of all pieces so I can get frames for them.

This week my goal is to bring back goals I didn't complete from the past 6 weeks... That way next week will be the forward thinking to the future.

This weeks goals:

As you can see there are a lot of things to get done but I think I can do it. Let the positivity flow and motivation take control! :)

My Eight Weeks: Week 6... House and Home

Last weeks goals:
1. Continue to communicate only positive thoughts towards others. It takes a while to break a bad habit and positivity needs practice. Goodness this is harder than it looks for me!
2. Write down at least one positive or beautiful thing you experienced/saw each day. I'm working on my morning pages which I'm trying to be more positive in.
3. Put $2/day toward credit card bill. Because less debt = happier me. Done.
4. Go on two friend dates and one artist date. Always fun and makes me feel less lonely. Done and done.
5. Go on two 20 minute walks. To invigorate body and mind. Forgot that one.
6. Bake vegan pumpkin muffins. Because if I treat my taste buds I treat myself! Nope, but I did make cupcakes!!!

This week's goals:
1. Finish attaching cloth to bulletin board and hang it.
2. rearrange living room
3. put up 3 posters

This week's goals are small-ish but they are in line with the theme this week on Sometimes Sweet and I think they may just be accomplishable!

What are your goals this week?

Week 5: All Downhill From Here, But In a Good Way

Last week's goals:

1. Communicate only positive thoughts with others, friend, acquaintances, strangers.
2. Put $1/day toward credit card. This will increase each week.
3. Finish Dark Tower book VII aka Complete the series!!!
4. Two loads of laundry, trying to keep it simple and realistic.
5. Spend at least 20 minutes per day on any of my projects.

This week's goals were hit or miss. The first one was haaard. I think I've been in the habit of saying negative things so I'm keeping that goal on the list for this coming week. The dollar a day to the credit card happened. I did not finish the Dark Tower book BUT I did have a lot more friend time. I did FOUR loads of laundry and even saw the bottom of my hamper for a second... and most days I spent 20 minutes on a project of some sort. I slacked a bit on morning pages but I do write something every day and these things are always on my mind.

This week I am going to stick with the same topic that Danielle does on Sometimes Sweet. So this week is all about Loving Life and Having Fun. I have to admit, I get in a negative/down trap pretty easily. I've been battling that thing called depression since I was little so being happy and having fun is something really great to focus on.

Here are this week's goals:
1. Continue to communicate only positive thoughts towards others. It takes a while to break a bad habit and positivity needs practice.
2. Write down at least one positive or beautiful thing you experienced/saw each day.
3. Put $2/day toward credit card bill. Because less debt = happier me.
4. Go on two friend dates and one artist date. Always fun and makes me feel less lonely.
5. Go on two 20 minute walks. To invigorate body and mind.
6. Bake vegan pumpkin muffins. Because if I treat my taste buds I treat myself!

Have you started writing down weekly to-do/goals?

Week 4: The halfway point

Last week's goals:
1. Finish blanket, that means connect last two strips and crochet border. : Did not finish, but close!
2. Finish film roll for Rolleiflex and develop. : DID IT!!!! All blurry but here's to learning.
3. Do 3 morning pages each day starting today. : YES! Done and done.
4. Do 3 loads of laundry : I did two, I need to do two more.
5. Make at least one thing off of this list. Take picture.  : Oh the lovely rainbow cake!
6. Blog 4 times (other than this). : Pretty sure I did that :)
7. Spring clean Facebook, Twitter, Bloglovin, etc : Did that before I posted this, cheating? Maybe haha

Wooooo I did really well this week, always had my goals in my head and laundry was the only thing I got really, really lazy about. I connected the last two strips of the blanket and did the first row of border, I just have to complete the border and I'm not sure how many rows that is going to be.
The rollei film came out completely blurry and I was a tad upset, more with the Diana film that also came out blurry, but it just means I have more to learn I guess.
Morning pages were lovely to do and of course the first day I don't have to check off I didn't do them but I went back to them again today and I'm glad I did. Sometimes they are hard to motivate myself to do.
The rainbow cake was a success with all I shared it with.
Spring cleaning was needed, I'm also limiting what I post on facebook and twitter, bringing my thoughts back and not sharing every one.

This week:

What's on your list this week?

My Eight Weeks: Week 3!

A little late in getting this started this week but better late than never! I can't believe it's already week 3. Next week we're half way through. Goodness. Not going to lie, I'm really liking this project.
So here goes:

Recap of last week:

1. Finish and connect all squares for baby blanket: ALMOST! Have two more strips of squares to attach!
2. Finish film roll in Rolleiflex: Nope, sigh.
3. Finish book V in Dark Tower series: YES! Did it!
4. Do all laundry... I want to see the bottom of the hamper (all of it): None of it got done.
5. cook 3 different meals: Pretty sure I did this, need to document each one next time.
6. Put $10 toward credit card each day ($70 at the end of the week): Did not.

As the weeks go on I am starting to figure out what I need to do for my goals. I need to think of big projects or goals and break them down so they are easy to think about each day.

This week's goals:
1. Finish blanket, that means connect last two strips and crochet border.
2. Finish film roll for Rolleiflex and develop.
3. Do 3 morning pages each day starting today
4. Do 3 loads of laundry
5. Make at least one thing off of this list. Take picture.
6. Blog 4 times (other than this).
7. Spring clean Facebook, Twitter, Bloglovin, etc

Easier to complete and less daunting to think about hopefully. That sounds silly but I want to be able to cross off each thing at the end of the week and be proud instead of feel lazy. Baby steps right?

What are your goals this week?

My Eight Weeks: A Sometimes Sweet "8 Weeks to a better me" project

Last week I said I wasn't committing but all through the week I kept thinking about my goals and even set some other non home life goals that I jotted down elsewhere. While not everything got done on the list I did think about my goals constantly and therefore was more likely to work on them or plan a time where I could.

recap of last week:
1. Crochet 8 squares: I completed 4
2. Use all food in fridge: well, food is still there but I haven't thrown as much stuff out this week.
3. Wake up by 12pm on days off: yeahhh, maybe another time.
4. Take a picture a day: Definitely was able to do this one! More than one picture a day most of the time! A lot of them are on film so I'll have to wait to share.

I'm stoked about my determination this past week to take more pictures. I also blogged more which I didn't put down as a goal but definitely is on my mind lately. I have a lot of loose ends on projects and to-dos around here so that's where this week's list comes in.

This week's goals:

1. Finish and connect all squares for baby blanket
2. Finish film roll in Rolleiflex
3. Finish book V in Dark Tower series
4. Do all laundry... I want to see the bottom of the hamper (all of it)
5. cook 3 different meals
6. Put $10 toward credit card each day ($70 at the end of the week)

Phew! That's a lot of stuff and some of them are going to be a stretch but not really if I keep myself organized. :)

What are your goals this week?

Weekly Goals

I was reading through my bloglovin list and was inspired (yet again) by an idea Miss Dani at Sometimes Sweet had. She's doing a new series...

I like this idea tremendously and while I am not committing to doing this all 8 weeks I am definitely starting it this week and seeing how it goes.

So here are my goals for this week!

1) Crochet 8 squares for friend's baby blanket
2) Use all food in fridge (goal is to not waste any food I bought).
3) Wake up by 12pm on days off.
4) Take a picture a day.

Do you set goals for the week? What are yours for this first week of May?

oh yes, and I am sponsoring sometimes sweet again this month! So stoked!

XOXO and Happy Monday
